Our founder and CEO, Lisa Smith, first started transcribing as a paralegal while she was getting her BA from Columbia University. She founded TrAnscrIbed by Moving On Productions in 2011 after spending ten years in the film and television production industry where she came to understand the need for a little known post-production component; that of transcription.
Starting a remote-only company at that time was rare, but Lisa had a vision of providing employment for people from all over, be it small towns or big cities. Jobs for stay at home mothers or as a side hustle for artists.

Along the way, the industry and technology have constantly evolved, but Lisa led the team to pivot and adapt ensuring longevity in the space while still maintaining a culture that puts people first.
